How-to-Make-Orange-Chicken-Burgers
Today, we’re going to teach you how to make an orange chicken burger. This is the summer time burger with a citrus kiss.
Hi, I’m Caitlin with cooking with Cooking with Caitlin and today we’re at herbs and spice and everything nice in Caitlin market. For your orange chicken burgers, you need Herbs De Provence, but sometimes it’s hard to find, so you can always use equal parts, basil, fennel seed, thyme and lavender for this recipe. Let’s get cooking.
Hi, I’m Caitlin and welcome to cooking with Caitlin. Today, I’m going to teach you a classic dinner served cheesy burger form. For this recipe, you’ll need a few ingredients. Ground chicken, some fresh mint, mayonnaise, Herbs De Provence, one orange, sesame seed buns and a little bit of salt.
The first step of this recipe you want to combine the meat with all of your herbs and spices. So put up your pound of round chicken, you could always substitute ground turkey or ground pork or even ground beef if you prefer. One tablespoon of Herbs De Provence, and then the zest of one orange.
Zesting an orange you can use, a microplane which is specifically for zesting or if you don’t have one, you can use the small side of the cheese grater. You want to make sure that you don’t have the white stuff of an orange and any kind of citrus, that part is called the pith and it actually has a really bitter taste to it.
After you’ve zested one orange you want to add about a teaspoon of salt, kosher salt preferably, just to heighten all of the flavor and then you just kind of run and get into it and mix it all together. Once your chicken is completely combined, you want to get started on the mint mayonnaise. Use one cup of mayonnaise and put it in just a spare mixing bowl, and then you want to chop up finely as fine as you can be about half cup of fresh mint.
Once you’ve combined your mint and your mayonnaise, set this aside and start to from your chicken burger patties. After you created your favorite size burger, you want to bring your burgers to the stove and start to fry them and on a 96 skillet with about a tablespoon or so of olive oil.
For a quick cook, you can always mash your burgers on a little bit more, that way that there’s more surface area to cook the chicken and then it will be cooked a lot faster. For a skinnier burger, it will take about four minutes a size where you have a big fat burger, I’d let it cooked about seven minutes.
The burgers are finally finished cooking, so now it’s time to assemble them. I always like to server these burgers on a bun with the mint mayonnaise of course and a fresh orange slice, smear it on. Every burger looked the best and do a nice orange slice. There you go orange chicken burger.
