How To Make Inexpensive Glamorous Christmas Decorations
What we’re doing right now is that we’re making a Christmas decorations and we’re getting a ball that we have here for Christmas. And we are attaching feathers to it in order to go with our pink Christmas tree. And the best way to buy your feathers are through this feather boas at Halloween time and what I'm doing is I'm cutting about an inch off each section here. And as you can see the middle of the boa and all these feathers are just sewn into this particular line. So what we need to do is we need to cut, we need to glue the very edge piece in. Cut about an inch and before we move it around too much is that we glue the other side of it so that it doesn’t unravel. So what we’re going to do is we’re going to let this dry. And then any feathers that fall off just keep them aside because you can make other decorations with that as well.
So then you just have section of feathers for those Christmas tree balls. So we’re making geebas decorations with geebas product that’s going to make it look fabulous, right Dan? It’s looking fabulous. So you’re going to grab your floral wire and you’re going to take your little trimmers and cut off about six inches and I already did the last video where we are taking feather boas is the cheapest way to buy your feathers is in the boas. And then what we’ve done is that we cut the end of the boa and you can see that there is a wire or a string that runs right through the whole thing. Do you see it there Daniel?
So at the very end, we have to apply glue. So that it doesn’t unravel all and then cut the other side which is about an inch long. And then glue the other side, so it doesn’t unravel. So where we go is we go to the dollar store and get these geebas balls. That whole thing is a dollar, can you imagine?
So now what we’re just going to do is take your floral wire and just loop it around and twist. So these are now the new center pieces for our Christmas balls. So I'm going to call this balls, balls, balls and feathers. So let’s go over here. So here we have the feathers, I’ve already cut them and glue each side of them. So we want the purple then to be the accent color and this is exactly what we’ve done already. So what we’re going to do is we’re just going to slip this into the actual tree branches. Just like so, we’re not going to hang it, we’re just going to slip it in. so lets do it here.
So now because we have cut the thing and don’t answer because it’s my video, so now you’re going to look at the wire. Can you see that Daniel? There is an actual string in there, right there. So now what we’re going to do is stick the floral wire without stabbing yourself through that string wire and by attaching more string. It’s not a wire that’s holding the boa together without stabbing myself. So we’re just going to stick it right through there and then we’re just going to slip down.
And whatever feathers come off, come off its not big deal. We can glue them back on. Here comes the very severe. So we’re just going to slip down and now we’re just going to grab the pink and you can clearly see what this one is here. So it’s going to stick to your floral wire into that section and we’re just going to slip down the floral wire. And then coming back over here, so that’s make sure its going to be fine.
So let’s go back over to the other section over here, to my craft central and grabbing my hot glue gun which is only 397 at Wal-Mart. Just gluing the feathers to the wire there, so it doesn’t slip off and now you have your decoration. So now you’re just going to slip these into the tree branch like so and that will be cool. Cheap and I even get disco balls. There you go, so that’s our geebas decorations for 2009.
