John Mangano: Need a tip on how to make homemade air fresheners? It's easy, inexpensive and safe for the environment. To bring an inviting scent from the doorway all you need is couple of pieces of cinnamon and orange peels.
In a saucepan, filled with water to about halfway, place the saucepan on a burner and add the cinnamon and orange peels and set the temperature to as low as you can on your stove. The cinnamon combined with the orange peels will add a lovely smell to your home.
For stubborn smells, all you need is white vinegar and water. In a spray bottle, combine one part white vinegar to five parts of water. White vinegar is great for neutralizing bad odors. Spray, spray, spray. Okay. Does your refrigerator scare people away? Here's a tip. All is you need is coffee grounds, paper towel and a rubber band. Combine a handful of coffee grounds and place on a paper towel. Fold and secure with a rubber band. There you go. Just put it in the refrigerator and that's it.
An alternative to buying costly perfumery is to create your own fresh scent. In a saucer, combine anise, nutmeg and vanilla extract. You can also try other ingredients like cloves or cinnamon sticks. So throw out all of those fresheners that harbor dangerous chemicals and try these green recipes. I'm John Mangano showing you easy solutions here at the Home Staging Channel.
