No turkey dinner is complete without some delicious homemade gravy made from the bird’s juices. So today, I am going to show you how to make a mouthwatering herb gravy to go with your holiday bird.
So, we’ve already removed our turkey and now I am going to make the gravy. So first, I am going to skin some of the fat off the top of the juices. And next, we’re going to put some heat underneath. You may need to use two burners or one might be enough. Then we will add about six cups of reduced sodium chicken broth. We’re going to bring this to a boil and let it reduce by about one cup.
Now that the broth is reduced, we’re going to add some salt and pepper. I will strain it into a small sauce pan with the sieve. Bring that to a simmer. Inside we’re going to add some fresh herbs, parsley, chopped sage, five tablespoons of butter and next you would simmer. Then we’ll add in some cornstarch to thicken it up. Support a cup of corn starch with one third cup of water. This is perfect recipe for no clump gravy.
