We’re here to make some fun books, I've got two different kinds here that I've already made up and were just simply using construction paper, scissors, a hole punch, a stapler and some ribbon and your imagination.

So this one is just colored paper and I've cut out different shapes so that they overlap and the pages have shapes cut out of them and you could use this as kind of a journal. It could be a little scrapbook. It could be autographs book for your friend’s maybe all your friends at school to sign. There's lots of possibilities and I am sure you can come with more uses than I've just made.

This is one is just made out of paper. Same idea, but its all kind of self contained within the rectangle the book and the page is just re cut to different sizes and as you open it up you just have different shape to pages where you can put your favorite photos, you can write things, cut out pictures from magazines whatever you want. So I'm going to show you how to make this and all you need is some construction paper and I'm going ahead and I've pick out. I like the bright color so I'm going to start with the bright colors and you start with the top page okay.

And I even included some of those funky edge cutting scissors that cut different designs just for little variety so I'm going to start with the top page here and then I'm just going to kind of randomly cut and hope for the best. And it’s not a bad idea to save scraps because what you might want to do is take some of this negative shapes that you’ve cut out. And use them another pages and just glue them onto there and then you’ve got this multi colored pages.

Okay, so this could be our first page okay, and I think what I want to do is cut an opening in it. So without actually folding the paper I'm just kind bend it so that I cut an opening in here and then I can put my scissors in here and cut out a shape that will allow the color underneath it to show through.

So there we go, actually I think I'm going to cut this one down like that. Okay, then the next one we going to cut from under here, you have to kind of play around with these there kind like that so that this spike show through, okay. And we are going to save this incase we need them we may not in which case you can pitch them or use them for something else.

Then I'm going to lay this one down on top of here and lets cut an opening on this one too, we’ll put an opening down here. This are kind of fun because they're very random you just sort of start cutting there's not sketching involve or too much planning I had done and you can move them around so that you get interesting things going on because see if I scoot this down then I've got the pink showing through. Okay, so now I'm going to cut my pinkies and some other things will be you know accidental, some will be things that you really truly planed.

Okay, it’s kind of interesting. Just on top and we’ll see what we’ve got so far. So this kind of what we have so far and as we get to the next layer I think I'm going to cut a little bit more for the paint or actually maybe we’ll put the paint this way. There I like that better. So what you have to do you have to play around with this a little bit. Okay, there I think I have something I like and I just need one more piece. And I’ll set this right there, now we’ve got this one like that and then, that like that, okay. Then we are going to take the stapler.

You want to staple about a quarter then inched away from the edge and there you your little book. And if you wanted to like let’s say this was a book about lets say your baby sister. You could take a photograph of your baby’s sister and you could put it on the second sheet. Behind here, okay. And when you opened it up would have your baby sister there and you could write say you know when she was born, what hospital, whatever.

So there's lot of possibilities for this, if you don’t to put photograph in them you can use them as journals you can have them as autograph books, you can go through magazines and cut out your favorite things in each page could have something different on it. The possibilities are endless.

So there we have our shaped book. And this one is basically done the same way you just start on the top cut out your first piece put the other one behind it cut that one and you keep cutting. And when your finish with this many sheets of paper as you want all you have to do is either staple them or take a whole puncher and you can see I punch holes here. And I just tied ribbon you can use curling ribbon, you can use cloth ribbon, you can use yarn. Whatever you want and here we have some fun a book made completely out of construction paper and lots of hours of fun here things that you can fill your books with. So have fun cutting.
