Here is an eye-opening-end to your meal, grilled fruit. Using a selection of your favorite summertime fruit, make beautiful bright skewers and place them on the grill. The flavors are surprisingly light and crisp. Grilled summertime fruit skewers are the perfect finish to our hearty meal. Okay, so I've halved and pitted my plums and I have a variety of plums here. We've got some purple ones, some red ones. So whatever is in season, go ahead and use them. Next I am going to do my nectarines Nectarines, the reason I love them so much is because they are so sweet and succulent, and we're going to also pit these, and when you're buying them, you want to buy nectarines that are firm to the touch, but they also give just a little bit, that way you know they are ready. So we are just going to slice it right down in the middle, and then turn it and take the pit up. It's very easy. You could also do this with strawberries even pineapple. So now we're ready to skewer the fruit. I soaked the bamboo skewers in water for about 30 minutes. That way they don't burn when they go in the grill. We are going to skewer a piece of the nectarine and a half of the purple plum, and a half of the red plum. That looks great. I am ready to skewer the rest of my fruit. Now I am going to sprinkle just a plane granulated sugar over the top of the fruit, that way you get a wonderfully crunchy caramelize sugary right on top. Okay, so I am going to let the fruit sit for at least 10 minutes so the sugar can dissolve.
Alright, my grill pan is hot, I need to just quickly grease it, just to make sure that the nectarines and plums don't stick to it. Okay, quick spray and here we go. We are going to leave them on the grill, face side down for about 5 minutes, so we can get that nice, sweet, crispy outside layer. We are going to get sweet and smoky. Decorate it with some mint, nothing beats with the mint. It looks beautiful. Alright, I am going to take them outside so we can dig it.
