How to Make Curry Chicken Salad
We’ve been a long time customers at sweet edition, you’re going to love this particular salad it’s the Curry Chicken Salad I’m going to show you how to make it it’s very, very easy there’s only a few ingredients if you can see here first I want to start with a good quality mayonnaise and I’m going to place it in my bowl right now.
Again this is a delicious, delicious recipe it involves those two favorite things savory and sweet and it has a variety of other spices to it that adds sort of an exotic flavor the one particular spice is curry and as you probably know is curry. You probably know about curry is they really have a combination of variety of spice is every single person can kinda create their own curry well this one is sweet editions and so I’m going to put this right in there.
To make it easy I put, I used a large bowl because I’m going to mix all my ingredients together so I’m going to save some time in my hand for washing and just a quick whisk to bring the curry and mayonnaise together. You know really this smells so good, this smells exotic and the color when it’s done you’ve seen it on a bit of lettuce it’s just beautiful.
It’s understandable why its so popular then simple things same thing we talk about its another dump recipe and I love this part of it, so you add some slivered toasted almonds right in to the mayonnaise mix to it and also some wonderful scallions. Look at the color of that it’s beautiful golden raisins add that sweet to the savory, we put all of those in, and then to provide a nice crunch add some celery
A good portion of celery and you know what, here’s some of the leaves the tender leaves are delicious they don’t have to just go and stock pot they can actually add in benefit a lot of recipes so I’m in a kinda whisk this up or actually stir it up just a little bit and I’m going to pour a place my chicken in the bowl so easy, so simple and so delicious.
So here we go all these wonderful fresh chicken now what you can do is you could actually use breast of chicken if you like but if you prefer the darkened one go right ahead its really your, its your recipe and have fun with it. I could also see what might be nice and little speckles of churns those are those wonderful little baby they look like dried raisins small little raisins, but have fun you could put some herbs in this if you want cilantro would be terrific some fresh cilantro enjoy this.
This can actually you can personalize it this recipe, sweet editions can give to you as a basic wonderful curry chicken salad and you can actually customize it to your own taste. As of my past recipes I’ve shown you I’m going to use my favorite tool it’s my hands I want to get this going right here and the smell is beautiful yummy, yummy I can’t wait for lunch I don’t know about you.
Okay that look’s good now how quick is that, very easy very quick you can have this as a wonderful entrée salad or use it probably as a filler for sandwiches. We’ve also done it with tortillas you can wrap at up and it becomes a beautiful tortilla wrap its wonderful very easy, really nutritious as well.
I have a variety of platters here but you cannot be interested in and some aren’t unique more so than others but either way this particular salad stands alone. Look at this wonderful dish and one of the ways I like to present this aside from it’s emission of tortilla is that you can use some very unique sort of platters
Let’s say if you’re joining a ladies luncheon I’m sorry I must have starved with doing as if you we’re in there. If you’re going to play this individually maybe for the beautiful leaf of rediquio is a natural cup so it’s a great component for salad because it naturally cups the sort of a substantial salad like this and you can use an ice cream scoop if you’d like or you can just place it in the rediquio shell
And against that green plate it picks up all the colors of the wonderful green onions, celery beautiful is it lunch time yet I hope so, this one will be for me. Now the other thing is let’s say your doing a lady’s lunch and I have a couple of friends over for lunch the other thing is you can do is use another sort of a long or regular sort of oblong platter like this
Again think out of the box go and look at grandma’s old cabinet chest see what’s in there you’ll be surprised of what you’ve find and what you can utilize and I’m going to place just a couple of these wonderful rediquio leaves on this. Again I love the color but you can use anything some any edible like lemon leaves would be beautiful anything like that because the compact heads of this rediquio just make a perfect like I mention before a perfect cup
Move this one out put a little more, and flatten this out and again play with your food we were always told not to but now as we’re adults we have we can play with our food again. From individual portions you could put these on a wonderful buffet table the prep have some sangria and you know may be a salad, a fruit salad, some nice crosstree rolls delicious.
Here we go now that high, height always makes things look much more appealing and you know we always eat with our eyes so that’s so important remember that first people eat with their eyes okay that’s another presentation. Another type of presentation is a little outside of the box but I love this no not going gardening that if you put this on a buffet table imagine your desk surprise when they fight come across this nice salad mounted on a flower pot this a really cool flower pots out there
This one is plastic so you don’t have to worry about pottery coming you know clay pottery so it’s wonderful. And well I like to use is the actual shovel with trawl and its just you should see everybody’s look on their face when they come and buy and they start digging for their salad its really quite fun course they take that idea home with them
So I’m going to show you this way and again you can line this one with beautiful rediquio actually. I’m going to probably put this in first and then we can we’ll scoop it in but I want to show let’s say you want a small group over but you can do is you can place this and let’s you want the height so you want to feel like its abundant so just place perhaps something on top like that so
It’ll give some height this is a little big for this but something like this will be perfectly fine so it utilize slices a little bit more of the space and we’re going to start mounting this in and your going to see what I’m talking about. Look at this it’s the white pottery its beautiful and again a very simple garnish on this would be parsley you don’t really have to go if you don’t have anything in your fridge that’s fine too you could even actually sprinkle on some beautiful dried herbs as well
Look at that now we add some color with the rediquio place that around just for splash of color and what guest wouldn’t be delighted with that at their table. Now I think that’s magical okay and the last one I think is the same thing this is for much more of a large garden party which you can utilize the same thing cause I mention that I would place a very a larger bowl such as this one because you probably might have maybe just maybe 10 people coming over for lunch place that in the bottom and you can mount that in
And don’t worry about it because nobody’s is really going to know I use this technique all the time a lot of people say Tamary I don’t get it I can’t you know I don’t make that much is too large of a quantity
You know think about it just I’m going to do it this way just think about it and you’ll come up with an answer but just mount it on top look at this beautiful and it smells so good what I love about it such a fresh salad too. When you take a bite at this the curry meld with the raisins those beautiful golden raisins they’re so plunk and then you’ve got crunch of the celery and that crispness of the toasted walnuts toasted almonds, they’re just delicious
And again we can do this put some rediquio, this is a compact head I tell you but that’s what you want that’s exactly what you want. Now you could even mount this a little bit higher and I have the actually some extra chicken salad which I might do and give you a little bit more of the height here you go, here you go. I’ve got some of that extra chicken salad and I’m going to mound that up just a little bit more for the presentation
This is one of those salads that actually gets better the next day so if you actually have time to make it ahead go ahead and do so and then when you serve the next day all those flavor have melded together. Little parsley spring on the side like this would be nice very nice and as I said if you have cilantro anything like that. But I think you get the idea just have fun with it that’s really what these is all about cooking should be fun, its exciting and nourishing all the same time so there you have it the sweet edition famous curry chicken salad I hope you enjoy.
