So I'm going to teach how to make trees or burgers. This is a home make take on the smoky spicy spinach sausage.
Hi I'm Kaleen were cooking with Kaleen and today at cock pit market picking up onions and peppers for our great toppings for the tree or burgers. We want to pick a pepper; you want to make sure there aren’t blemishes and no dry marks. Now I like to cook with these yellow onions and we want to make sure that there is no dirt. Once you figure that out you can get cooking. Let’s go.
So were going to be cooking trees or burgers. This is a smoky spice burger that is a definitely crowd pleaser. For this recipe you need a pound of fresh ground pork and you're favorite red wine, some salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, coriander, sugar, garlic and crushed red peppers flakes. This is a matter of super easy recipe. You just throw everything into bowl and mix up.
First 00:56 a quarter cup of you’re red wine. Next you need two teaspoons of kosher salt, three tablespoons of paprika. This is what's going to give it a smoky flavor. A quarter of a teaspoon of your black pepper, half a teaspoon of Cubin its not anything at all add a lot of smoke to it. Half a teaspoon of coriander, two teaspoons of crushed red peppers flakes for heat. If you like it spicy you can always add more. Teaspoon of garlic, I like to use the pre-minced garlic for my burgers. Well finally half a teaspoon of sugar just a cut all the heat.
Once everything to the bowl you just have to mix it. The best tool definitely your hands if you don’t mind getting all the mess. Once everything is completely combined and all the flavors are added and you want to taste before you make foil enormous patties. Make sure you make a little patty. Who will fry that? It’s a great sample and you get to know how to flavor these. If you like it, go ahead and make four huge patties.
This is great for the grill but today we’re going to cook them inside on the stove. Were cooking on the stove you first pre-heat you're pan to that medium high heat. Then ill just add a little olive oil to smirch with that de burst on sec. Once you're pan is hot enough and the oils there and starts to run away. I'm going to add you're burgers. The burgers will cook for about seven minutes on the first side and then when you flip it over it will be about five more minutes.
Once you have the burgers on the hot pan you want to make sure that you don’t press them down. You don’t leave them around and you don’t flip them too early. This way the pieces won't be release it’s going to end up to a nice crispy craps. Now that the burgers have cooked for seven minutes on the first side. You can flip them over and let them fry for about five more minutes.
Sometimes when the burgers finished cooking they start to crack and it’s a great way just to pick inside to see if they're completely final. And my burgers are finally completely finished. So were going to turn off the heat and then—Now to paint these burgers I will always use a soft brush that way you just can paint right into the burger. A great toppings for the usual beat, some peppers and onions or just a; half of cheese. Thank you for tuning into this episode of cooking with Kaleen.
