How to Make Chinese Dragon Puppets Part 2
Cut several strips of 3x24 inch pieces of construction paper in two colors of your choice. Staple the strips lengthwise in order to create a very long strip of each color. Cut lengthwise along each strip to create a tapered strip that will service the tail of your dragon.
Lay one strip on top of the other and begin accordion folding. Do this for the entire length of the strips. Staple the strips together at both ends once you’re finished. Trim the wider end to create a more dragon like hat.
Next, lay several sheets of tissue paper on top of each other and cut a few strips about an eighth of an inch wide. This will serve as the flames coming out of your dragon’s mouth. Hot glue the flames inside the head of your dragon. Attach the wobbly eyes onto the head and then decorate with glitter. Hot glue the dowel rod to the inside of one of the accordion folds below the head. Cut two pieces of tissue paper into wing shapes. Twist the ends of the tissue paper together; hot glue the twisted end to the inside of one of your accordion folds.
