The most power pack breakfast has got to be oatmeal and when you add cherries and vanilla you know your days are off to a great start. You think you don’t have time for breakfast? Well, this takes no time at all. It’s so fast, that’s one and three quarters cup of water. You’re going to put in there a cup of oats, quick cooking oats right in the pan, a quarter cup of dried cherries. We are cooking them in with the oatmeal like this will make them even more plump and juicy.
We normally think of blueberries as being this super fruit but cherries actually have same antioxidant power, just a pinch of salt, an eighth of a teaspoon, just get some fire under there. That just needs to come to a boil, give a little stir and if you think you don’t have time to eat breakfast. I say you don’t have time not to eat breakfast. It does so much for you. It really keeps you on your game, it revs up your metabolism and if you skip breakfast you almost will always make up the calories later in the day.
So that’s boiling. I'm just going to bring you down to a simmer for one minute and grab some milk. So this kicking breakfast has whole grain oats, fruit and I’m going to add some milk to give you that creamy texture. That’s looking done, turn that off and add some more flavorings, half a teaspoon of vanilla and that flavor and aroma is just unbeatable.
Always use the real thing because the imitation stuff just taste chemically and two tablespoons of cherry jam and this will sweeten the oatmeal and give kind of an extra boost of cherry flavor and have a little sweetness in my oatmeal just going to swirl that through. The vanilla does knock you out, double head of cherries. It’s a great way to start the day. Put some of the bowl for myself here, this pot makes two servings that’s amenable for me right now. Some milk on top, keep it nice and creamy, low-fat milk, it’s a nice texture, protein and calcium I like that two tablespoons. You can put more if you want, just give it a stir. I’ll be raring to go.
