Bake is called a French Martini. Now French Martini, in a true sense of the word, really isn’t a martini. It’s kind of like a semi-martini with fruit juice. However, with the advent of very popular martini bars, you just find all kinds of drinks called martini because you can take vodka and you can mix it with just about anything and people call that a martini. It’s not truly a martini but that’s what people call it.
So what we’re going to do is we’re going to make a French martini. And we’re going to shake it. The reason why we’re going to shake it is because it has fruit juice in it. So what it calls for is ice. We’re going to take our vodka here, ounce and a half of our vodka, and then what we’re going to use is a special type of liqueur called Chambord. Chambord comes from France and it’s made from a kind of like plums and raspberry and it’s very sweet but it’s alcoholic so it has kind of a raspberrious plum flavor to it. And we’re just going to use a half ounce of our Chambord. It’s purple, plum color. And then what we’re going to do is just use a little bit of pineapple juice and the pineapple juice is going to get a little juicy flavor. We’ve got a little bit of our pineapple juice.
We’re going to shake it, so we’re going to put it right into our metal mixing cup, give it a little twist and on both hands you wanna be sure to have pressure because sometimes you didn’t quite seal it. Put a little gap on the metal part. All right I’ve already pre-chilled my stemmed cocktail glass and I’m going to strain it in there without the ice. Now this drink might be just little darker in color or little more purple in color on that. So this is our French martini. No olive, no lemon twist.
