The drink that I’d like to show you how to make now is called a Banshee. Banshee is a cream drink. So, our cream drinks, we always have to shake our ingredients because whenever that we’re using creams in our cocktail, it’s something that’s thicker than the liqueurs that we’re using, so we want to be sure to shake it to get everything very thoroughly mixed up.
So, we’re going to use our Boston shaker set. Stainless steel cup, we’re going to put ice in. Then our recipe calls for two ounces of our coffee cream. Half ounce of our white crème de coco which is a sweet semi-chocolate flavored liqueur so it’s alcoholic. And then what we’re going to use is banana, crème de banana which has a sweet banana flavor. We will use a half ounce of that. And this is where the drinks got its name from because the banshee is a type of monkey, where the monkeys like to eat bananas. So this is why we’re using bananas.
And crème de coco, we use as a base slicker. Give it a slightly sweeter and a very big taste of chocolate. So we’re going to put our glass mixing cup in there. Give a little twist to seal it, hands on both end and shake it rigorously, there we go. Give a little tap on the bar. Shaken drinks are normally served straight up, unless requested otherwise by a customer and there we are. We’re going to strain it without the ice into our stemmed cocktail glasses.
And there we have it, a Banshee, a creamy banana with a slight taste of chocolate. Go to super afternoon drink if you want to drink something that’s rich flavored and you like bananas, and you like a little bit of chocolate. Great drink for you. Enjoy it, Banshee.
