Trace the outline of your sandpaper unto a sheet of drawing paper. Plan your border design using your pattern sheets. Next, choose some of the images you would like to draw. Once you have your entire design planned you are ready to transfer it to your sandpaper. Place a sheet of carbon paper, dark side down under your sketch and trace any objects you don’t think you can draw freehand. When finished with the transfer, choose your colored scheme carefully. It is a good idea to limit the number of colors to seven or eight. Color it carefully and darkly and watch out for smudging. Outline images with different colors. Glue the completed sand painting unto a larger colored sheet of paper to create a matte.
