This video Bartending lesson is brought to you by American Bartenders School, from one of its simulated cocktail launch classrooms where students learn by doing just like on the job training and in only one or two weeks, they can be fully trained and ready to work as professional bartenders and take advantage of the many full and part time job opportunities available.
Welcome back, the drink that I’d like to show you now is called a Kamikaze; great drink, interesting name.
So what we’re going to do is we’re going to show you how to make a Kamikaze straight up and once again we’re going to show you how to stir it, to chill it down. So, we’re going to use one of our stemmed cocktail glasses and what we want to do is we want to pre-chill our stemmed cocktail glass. So while we’re making our drink, we want our glass to get nice and cold. So there, I’ve put ice in our glass so while I’m preparing our cocktail, the Kamikaze, the glass will chill out.
We’ll take our glass mixing cup and I’m going to take two ounces of our Smirnoff vodka and I’m going to use is a half ounce of our Triple sec. Then what I’m going to use is a little dash of our Rose’s lime juice. Rose’s lime juice is non-alcoholic lime concentrated syrup used quite a bit to flavor drinks. We’re just going to put a little, a couple of dash in just like so.
And then what I’m going to do is I’m going to stir our drinks. I’ve got our long bar spoon here. I’m stirring the drink vigorously then I want to dump my ice. The glass is nice and cold now and I’m going to pour the drink right in there, and this drink calls for a lime garnish, fresh squeeze lime right there. And there we have it, Kamikaze. Enjoy it.
