Derrick: Welcome to the Sunday night Shooters edition of Common Man Cocktails. Today we’re looking at the Hpno Tonic it’s going to have Hpnotiq, that would make sense. Now, if you probably seen this we used it in Incredible Hulk.

Female: No.

Derrick: No. There’s something that was strong, that was incredible --you know, but there’s your green drink that we use it as brandy, and Hpnotiq.

Female: Maybe it was [Voice Overlap].

Derrick: I think it was Incredible Hulk. And so what you're going to get out of this is a perfect balance of premium vodka fine cognac in tantalizing natural tropical fruit juices. Does that not sound like partying and we’re going to use -- this is new, well at least to us it’s kind of new in the market I think, I'm not sure. This is the 1800 Silver Tequila, 100 proof pre-potent.

So we’re doing a 100 proof tequila, we’re going to do a little Hpnotiq, we’re going to layer them, so we’re going to put the Hpnotiq and we’re going to drop some tequila on top. It’s going to feather in to a nice blend and we’re going to be good, I hope. And we’ve chilled his out. So, it's a layer drink we’re not going to need to do anything special, we’re going to do let’s say 2/3 of an ounce, and see how that works out for us. So pour that in here.

I used another measuring glass, mainly because I don’t want to mix them. I don’t know if that will affect the layering at all, because you’ll going to bring in something different, and we layer it. We’re going to use our bars spoon, because it got a nice flat spoon on it. Pour that right down the side. I've done a push café style shot in a while. So, I'm expecting what you’re going to notice in this drink is the potency should be fairly extreme.

So what you’ll get if you look is a very almost looks like no tequila at all in there. It floats, there’s a slight blue in the line, probably because there’s a little weightiness where they kind of intermingle for a few seconds, but over all, it’s still kind of -- I wouldn’t say it’s the most sexy of layers, it’s not the most impressive of layers, but it is a neat looking deal, because the blue. You don’t see a lot of blue, even with the deceree out, it usually a lot sink, so you’re usually get Teflon on a topping, so clear. This is much more baby blue, if you will, so there’s your Hpnotiq, dangerous, I probably could light this on fire, if I wanted too, but I'm not going to do that right now. Let my senses come back down. It’s pretty strong, I'm not going to kid you.

Now, granted I'm using a 100 proof Silver Tequila 1800, so you’ll going to get that going. If you're looking to take it up a notch you can look for some 100 proof, but what you’re getting is almost has some hints of what a margarita will be like, because of the tropical nature of the Hpnotiq, you’re getting potency, definitely potency. You’re getting a little silver agave, like a little agave enough to know you’ve been hit by the agave stick. You're getting the tropical juices and it just tastes like a tropical shot.

Overall, pretty crisp, pretty clean, the finish is nice and long, little acidic, kind of neat, almost like a sweet sour play. So definitely a cool looking shot if you go with the hpnotoniq.
