How to Look Fashionable While Pregnant
Hi, this is Shannon host of Mommy Matters with babyessentials.com. I wanted to talk to you today about looking fashionable while expecting. Of course this is a big topic for anybody who’s really pregnant. Your first concern is what am I going to wear you know. Back in the days, our parents had a lot less to choose from. So, we are really fortunate that way. And yet some people in the beginning especially when it's their first pregnancy are more concerned with looking cute and looking pregnant as suppose to just looking heavy. I mean, let’s be honest.
So you want them to know you're pregnant. So you want to maybe play up your bump. Second time, third time moms, it's all about comfort. But the bottom line is, as long as you feel good, you're going to look fashionable. The better you feel, you better you're going to look. There are a lot of options in that arena.
So, along those lines, I wanted to talk about a couple of options to extend your own wardrobe. When you're first discovering that you know, your own clothes are not making it through and you're going to have to start considering buying some maternity clothes but they don’t even quite fit yet. You're in that inter room stage.
There are a couple of options. There is something called a bra extender. There is something called pant extenders. And they both will work with what you already have and literally, just fit in to them and make them last a little bit longer until you just really are ready to go into the true maternity clothing and then they will fit appropriately.
And then the final option among those lines is something called a belly band. So, look simple enough, fits around your belly and it can actually go under a t-shirt that is not maternity. So, if you're regular shirts seem to be kind of popping up a little bit, this will kind of cover you so your belly is not hanging out. It's also useful even more closer to like eight or nine months when even maternity clothing is doing the same thing and you don’t want your belly hanging up.
So, it's a great way to make anything that you do purchase last longer. One last point would be to keep/stick to the basics and buy accents. You know you have a tendency to go out and see all these cute maternity dresses and you want to buy them, but in the long run you know they’re seasonal. Maybe they just you know, there are more obvious that you’ve worn in several times at the end, there is not a lot that it's and you want to really be comfortable, so you find yourself wearing the same things again and again to be honest.
So, anything you can buy that looks really basic and then you can dress it up with something else and then no one as any of the wiser that you’ve worn the same pants every other day. Finally, I just said that you know you really—bottom line—you want to be comfortable. If you have a special occasion and you don’t want to make a huge investment, you can always think about renting maternity wear. Again, something our parents totally didn’t have but is awesome.
So be sure to kind of check our your options, ask friends, you can always borrow clothing as opposed to making a huge investment and yet, you can still feel great and look fashionable while expecting.
So I hope this information was helpful to you. If you need any more tips on looking fashionable while you're going through maternity wear, check out babyessentials.com and have a great day.
