Okay so now we are going to measure and I have kind of done it off screen anyway. We are just going to measure and you can see that we have two inches of material just like I said I would. It has got a little bit of an extra but that is okay. So now it is time to make the brim of the actual sock, so now what we are going to do is look on the inside and we might as well start where the other string is kind of finishing off so we are going to start by moving this up and you can see in the camera really clearly than I can but you can see that there are lines all the way down. So now we want to follow those lines and then loop the bottom line on top of the peg so let us pull that falling down, do you see it? So just stick your hooky thing into the very last one again. So what we are going to do is take that and we are going to put it back on to the hook just like so.
So now that you got one up, they are all very clear now so you if you pull it you can see the next one is right there. So all you got to do is just work your way around the circle putting everyone back on to. You can even use your fingers now that you got it started so just looking along, just make sure it is the top two of every one of them, just working your way around the circle. Hopefully you cannot hear deep it down because he is just snoring he is not supposed to be sleeping but he has played viola today at a church wedding plus he did an orchestra rehearsal this morning. Well, we live out of the country so the city is an hour and a half away so it’s a long commute just for all that activity. So let’s continue and to go around.
Now if you wanted to do a brim color differently or before I go into that here is the straggler, the piece left over, what we want to do is we want to tuck it up inside this lip, so what we do is going to tuck it in the inside so you will never see it and if anything pops out later you can just cut it. So if you do not have, if you go around and you realize that there are not enough pegs for the material then obviously then you have put on a wrong one, so now it is going to look like this at this point. If you wanted to change the color at this very moment all you would do now is that what we are going to do here is that we are pushing it all to the bottom.
So the string piece here is now in between the actual brim bottom here in the actual where we left off but that does not matter. What we are going to do is that we are just going to come around and we are just going to wrap each one again and this allows us to be extra secure. Now if you wanted to change the color, maybe you want our brim to be a different color than the actual leg piece of the actual sock, what I am wrapping right now should be the new color that you have chosen and by wrapping it right in here the way that this will perform is that you will never see where the seam line is. The color will just change so effortlessly when you are looking at the sock. It is so clean looking when you do it this way.
So now what we want to do, this is where we ended off. We want to take the brim piece and push over and the bottom piece, push over, and then the first one is going to be stiff like I mentioned before. So the brim over and the bottom over so you are just going to go all the way around following that same configuration. Now you might get to the point where you can pick up all three and move them over to if you want to.
It all depends how stiff it is, it is harder to do when you use two pieces of wool at the same time which you probably should be doing anyway with this particular size loom. I would never be making a sock at this point with just one string like I am right now. It would just be too loose and it would not be fitting properly but I just do not want to confuse you by adding a secondary yarn in there. I want you to clearly see what I am doing. And for those who have never loomed at it before, the good side of the sock is the actual exterior of the ring, so this is the actual inside of the sock. This is what you will actually be physically seeing like when you are actually wearing it.
So let us continue to do the brim and bottom piece over. I kind of when I am off camera, I use my thumb as it go. I actually do it like this. I pull over and then I push with both the needle and my thumb and we are going to get all the way back around to the start. And so you are all the way up the start again. Okay so now what we want to do is that just go on to your next video and I will tell you what to do next.
