Paul Ryan: If messy leaves and other debris are creating gutter garbage, guess what? Your gutters aren’t doing there one and only do way, keeping rain water away from you house. Here are three ways to prevent that problem. First, use binocular to inspect your gutter lines, go slowly and look for a holes and leaks or debris. Secondly, the most common spot for gutter jams is where the gutter and the down spout join. My suggestion is that you check this spot a few times a year to prevent backup of rain water that will eventually cause damage to your roof. Finally, if you do find the small hole you can fix it with silicon cock. It’s easy to apply with the cocking gun, by doing a simple inspection in the fallen spring your gutter shot last for about 20 years. I’m license contractor Paul Ryan for the DIY network.
