How to Keep Fresh Fruit from Turning Dark
Hi, here's a Betty’s quick tip. I'm getting ready to make a few dishes that have fresh bananas, sliced bananas. And I've just sliced one here and I like to slice them as close to bring them in to the recipe as possible, but sometimes I have to do it ahead of time. To keep them from turning dark, what you need to do is a splash of lemon juice over them. And then just turn on your hands and stir them around make sure that all sides get covered. And then you don’t have to worry about your bananas turning dark. Now this will work for peaches, apples, pears anything that would turn dark if you just let it sit. And if you want to use fresh lemon instead of this lemon juice that I've bought at the store, just squeeze your fresh lemon over or you may use lime juice either artificial or fresh lime juice or white vinegar. I think this will help you out when you’re working with fresh fruit.
