Hey guys, what’s up David here, iPod Touch 2G. And in this video I’m going to be showing you how you can finally jailbreak the iPhone 3GS running the 3.0 Firmware. Now, I’m going to warn you guys right now this is not released by the Dev-Team, this is released by a developer by a name of Geohot. He was the first person to unlock the iPhone and he’s back with the Jailbreak for the iPhone 3GS; it’s extremely simple. I don’t have an iPhone 3GS but it’s so simple I can show you without even having—to have an iPhone 3GS.
So, like I said I’m going to give you a warning if you want a full Jailbreak, this is technically a full Jailbreak but it a bit buggy. The iPhone Dev-Teams had they’re going to wait until the 3.1 Firmware is released their jailbreak. So if you want to wait until that that’s probably a better decision but I’m going to show you how you can jailbreak the iPhone 3GS anyways.
So what you’re going to want to do is go ahead and download purple rain. Alright, I have a link for the download and the video description to the right. And you should get something that looks like this. What you’re going to do is connect your iPhone 3GS, you’re going to close down iTunes make sure you have iTunes 8.2 by the way of you don’t—you’ve got to go ahead and update. So you’re going to open up purple rain actually if you’re on Vista you’re going to right click it, go to properties, go to compatibility and select run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP service pack 2, apply and okay. If you’re on XP you don’t need to do anything. As of now, there is no Mac support so you can’t do this from Mac and Windows 7 support and coming soon.
So what you’re going to want to do is double click on purple rain select run, and then you should get something that looks like this not—snazziest looking jailbreak tool but it’s extremely simple and it does work. So as I said, you’re going to plug in your iPhone 3GS make sure iTunes is closed. You’re going to start make it rain. Now, it’s saying that stopped working because I don’t have an iPhone plugged in but it is still waiting for phone you’ll see it. you’ll end you getting the purple rain photo on your iPhone like you see here. Once you get of that you’re going to run freeze which will be on your iPhone.
Once you’ve run freeze you’re going to select and install Cydia. If you want the installation for Cydia to be faster what you’re going to want to do is turn off Wi-Fi on your phone and then install Cydia. As you can see as it’s downloading finished this is the whole process and then I’ll give you guys the link for this incase you want to read over this. But as you can see you’re going to have to reboot your iPhone 3GS and there you guys go you’ve got Cydia. Now, it will not install IC for you. IC, I personally don’t think IC is that good but if you guys want it, you can go ahead and download through Cydia.
I think I said you should turn the Wi-Fi off to make the installation for Cydia faster. If not, a big mistake. Make sure you turn the Wi-Fi on if you want the installation to be faster. So that’s pretty much it guys. After you do that, after you install Cydia just read with your phone you should have Cydia right there that have been reports of Winter Board not working with this jailbreak because it will supposedly after you install it you have to reboot your phone for it to work. They said after you reboot your phone it goes into a constant spring board crush loop meaning it will just keep on being in safe mode. So that’s all been in some reports other reports say some applications don’t work properly while other say some work fantasticly like with the PlayStation emulator. Some people said that works flawlessly; most people say Cydia runs extremely fast. So if I were you guys I would wait the Dev-Team releases their Jailbreak tool but as I said this is completely straight on, easy. I’ll give you guys the link for this page that has the phone instructions will these pictures to help you guys along. That’s pretty much it guys. Thanks for watching. Remember to write comments and subscribe. See you guys later.
