Amy Matthews: Welcome back to bathroom renovations, we are about to install a couple of element that we going to put in the bathroom. Are you ready to open this one? Lisa: I am. Amy Matthews: Alright. Lisa: Hey look that. Amy Matthews: Look at that, oh that thing is so cool. I have to say this is not look like your average residential washer. Lisa: This is pretty high tech. Amy Matthews: It is, it’s a very high in washing machine from Whirlpool and I’m very excited because it does everything you can wash wall in here, you can put jeans in here. Lisa: Oh that’s nice. Amy Matthews: Yeah, so high capacity. Lisa: High efficiency. Amy Matthews: Right, I think you are going to like washing too. Lisa: Well yeah because I feel it for the past few weeks so I’m very happy that we are going to put this today. Amy Matthews: Well the nice thing is to is you’ve still got a laundry room even though we took at about half of that over by adding space for the bathroom which is the best part, you’ve still an area right here on the second floor to do your laundry with nice washing machines. Lisa: Exactly and do you remember that this is use to be just my bathroom that was tiny and it will pop open that to laundry room and now I have half the size of the laundry room but— Amy Matthews: That’s all you need. Lisa: That’s all I need. Amy Matthews: Yup and we’re pretty much prep in that room, we’ve got the vent in there, the water supplies are tap and all the electrical so this are should be pretty easy to install. Lisa: Good. Amy Matthews: During framing we install something in the floor called disaster paint. When washing machine is on the second floor they’re need to be a water barrier between a washers in the first floor. To provide water damage and face of an overflow accidents, the machine waste over 300 pounds so moving it is a concentrated effort. We want to keep the machine about six away from the wall so we can make our final connections. With all the plumbing rough in the installation of the new washer and dryer is really pretty easy. For us I remove the knock out piece for the drain, it sealed and turn out to keep the gasses strap. Then I run the drain hose down into the drain, we connect the water supply lines to the cold and hot water shut up bulbs in the wall and connect the other sides to the inlet on the machine they’re mark hot and cold to make things easy. When we’re done we make sure everything is nice and tight with the channel lock. With all the connection made, we turn on the water to checks for leaks and we’re ready for the dryer. This flexible metal dent duck comes out of the wall and attaches to the four inches fitting on the back of the dryer. Perfect and that’s looks good. Lisa: Nice. Amy Matthews: So we feed your laundry now? Lisa: You help me? Amy Matthews: No. When we started working this bathroom it was the one eye soars in an otherwise beautiful victory at home after a major expansion and style makeover the space is the ultimate inspire like luxury. The old bathroom space is now the functioning dry area, the floor looks like regular tile but it’s actually and interlocking floating tile product. Its warm color really sets the tone for the room. This space house is the new toilet as well as the glass vanity unit; we tone down the ultra contemporary style of the piece by using a granite vessel sink and the traditional faucet. To give Michael and Lisa the open feeling they wanted in the room we created a giant wet room with the fully tile walk to your shower that leads to there new tub. The tub itself is top of the line with combination jets and chromotherapy to enhance the spa quality of the bathroom and while soaking in the tub, what better view than a well mounted guest by your place. This piece gives the bathroom the real warm for the homeowners we’re after. In total the cost of this bathroom makeover tap $45,000, thanks to Michael construction experience and Lisa’s quick learning curve they save $18,000 by doing so much of the work themselves. Every element in this bathroom was updated both in form and function achieving the homeowner’s goal of combining contemporary style with victory and charm. Well you guy this is a class major piece of the puzzle, how do you feel? Lisa: I can’t believe it, I can believe it. Amy Matthews: You’re near in the end. Michael: Well its come together really nicely, we really want the spa and the relaxing atmosphere and this turn out nicely with the colors. Amy Matthews: Yeah, you have a second color. Lisa: Even the second color, remember my pink bathroom. Amy Matthews: I do. Lisa: And how small it was. Amy Matthews: We would not have fit in there. Lisa: We would not have fit in there, and now this place is so big when we busted out into the laundry room. Amy Matthews: Yeah, you guys got some extra space; got some very cool features and I think you can enjoy it for long time to come. Lisa: Me too. Amy Matthews: Yeah good work.
