Hi I'm Mark Donovan from HomeAdditionPlus.com. And today I'm going to show you how to replace a damaged showerhead.
As you can see with this old shower head spray unit, it has a crack on the side of it. So we’re going to remove it with a pair of pliers. Once we have it loosened, we can just finger tight remove it from the head of the shower. The next thing we want to do is remove the old plumber’s tape from the shower head unit. Next I’m applying some new Teflon tape or plumber’s tape around the end of the nozzle of the shower head.
Next, I’m attaching a new shower arm knob to the end of the shower. And all you have to do here is hand tighten this. You don’t need any type of pliers to snug this down. Now attach the shower hose to the end of the shower arm knob, and again we just have to finger tighten this, no tools are required.
And we’re in business. So now, we’ll test our new shower head unit to make sure there is no leaks, and as you can see, no leaks at the shower arm knob or at the hose. So that’s it, it only takes us about five minutes to replace this shower head unit and we got a fantastic new unit that puts out seven different types of sprays.
