In the interview that I did with my mom we talked about doing a double crochet and this is double crochet and she did all her scarves and all projects in double crochet and all that double crochet looks the same and it’s nothing wrong with that it’s just to what you are comfortable doing but I want to show you just a very simple technique of taking that double crochet and doing something slightly different to change the total look of your pattern and by doing it this way you can get rid of those lines that are very unknown for being a crochet, you look at the same way as crochet.

And even though this is crochet it’s a slight variation and using the different techniques it kind of the technique is about you the top is more tighter, more dense where this is more loosing, you can still see your fingers through it. So let me show you how to do this and you’re not going to believe how simple as really is. So just changing your technique just like away you can go for just a regular crochet to be like crochet.

What you’re going to do is you’re going to take your size k hook and you can do any size but I’m using a size k and my size k hook is provided by firestromcreations.com, it has a clay base and it’s easier for me to grab and that’s why I love it. So just taking your regular string and we’re just doing an example to show you and you take the back so just wrapping it around your finger like I will always show wrap and taking the back over the ford and taking the back again, pushing up and there is other and if you need to see that in a more slow motion there is other tutorials for that. So this concept here, this is like if you were doing something like this, it wouldn’t matter and how many steps that you’re doing in a said of basically is a combination of stitches that you need in order to be successful.

And when you’re looking at this, this is actually sets of two. So I don’t care how long you do it and how sure you do it, always dense it to two. So the first one is one that you put on there two the next one is one and the next one is two. One and two, so just always keep in the set of one and two in order to make your base chain.

So go as long as you want, I ;m going to do about 16, maybe 20 and we’ll from there and continue along and I’ll meet you back up in just a few minutes and we’ll start our very first row. To create this pattern here I recommend that you start on your base chain, now we got our base chain, now we got our base chain that you start your first row and just do single crochet. So if this is were you vented all you going to do is just grab your material and pull through for one chain and then come back so the 3rd one can hook. So you got one there, one there, and come with the third.

So we’re going to do so then you put your hook in, grab your material, pull it through and then pull it through. Let’s go into your very next chain and if you’ve never crocheted before the very next one is right there and what we want to do is we always want to stick it in were you always have two strings on the top of your hook and one on the bottom and then you’re just going to grab your material and pulling it through and then pull it through it again.

Let’s do another, so you see where it is, see how this one is coming up and it’s showing you where the next one is just sticking your needle in, playing it through and then pull that through and I’m going to show it one more time and then I’m going to speed up to real time and if you thing that it just rewind this video.

So going in two strings one top, one on the bottom and pulling it through and pull through. So then for the rest of you if you didn’t get that just rewind and continue along. We’re just going to single crochet all the way across. In this particular example I did go 20 across you always want to keep this when the instant to two it just makes it easier for some such two and we want both sides of the blanket to be and you know forming easy to remember and what we’re doing.

So just working your way across, now I did see this when I’m finishing up here. I didn’t see this somewhere before and I never realize how simple. I’ve just changing a one stitch can be and you know when you’re making on the material, the same lines like you see on the bottom part of that example and the background. You just going to get bored and said, so we’re in our last one so we’re just going to stop there and we’ll start our next video. So we just stop with the single crochet and there you go. We just stop here so we’re just going to turn your material and put the string in behind and what we want to do now is that we want to just chain up one, and we’re going to single crochet in the very first one. So we chain up and so we just single crochet right into that first hole that you see.

So putting your hook in grabbing your material and pulling it thorough, so the next one what we’re going to do is we’re going to double crochet, so grab in your material before you go in, going into the very next stitch and when you’re going into this stitch is you will see two strings on top just like you did before, pull the material thorough, two and two and now the next one what we’re going to do is we’re just going to single crochet. So just go right into the very next stitch it becomes really obvious right in front here and so do you see the pattern already we’re just going to double crochet the next so we’re going to single crochet and double crochet, single crochet, double crochet all the way to the end.

So the next one is a single crochet, the next one is a double crochet and in pattern books a single crochet is SC and double crochet is DC. So this is a double and I’m going to show if you forget what you just did in the next line I’m going to show you how you can look at it so that you know that’s a double crochet or a single crochet. So this is the double. The key to this particular pattern is your edges, your very last stitch and you first stitch, you have to make sure that they’re opposite to each other when you’re jumping up to the next line and I’ll explain that to you in just a few minutes.

If we’re coming to the end, and do you see that’s the last one there, so when you’re sticking into the end piece you want to make sure that there’s still two on top just like so and then put through and through. So we finish out of double crochet and I will show you on the next video on what to double crochet and what’s a single, what’s you’re actually looking for. So let’s move on.

So we’re just finished double crocheting, so turning your material what we’re going to do here because we’ve finished what he double crochet the one above it needs now to be a single crochet so in order to do single just grab your material pointing it through so chain one and then go right into the stitch that’s at the bottom of that for a single crochet.

So the next one then do you see how it’s kind of like pulling open on you, you can almost see then that’s the actual single crochets that you did before, so then you’re going to fill that in with a double crochet. So we just built up with a single, so the next one has to be a double.

So then obviously the next one is a single and then the next one is a double, so how do you know what is a single and what is double going in, so actually very simple, if you look at your pattern here we just put in a single piece right into there that was your single stitch. If you look at the one before, you notice here you’ll see two separate lines, that means that it’s been doubled crocheted there’s two lines, where when you do single crochet there’s only one, see there’s only one there but there’s actually two there the one behind it. So when you’re looking at it you can do it easily if you just done a single crochet or a double.

And the thing about this pattern and the reason why I did two different colors like those what you’re essentially doing is you’re working yourself up and down like a wave so the blue is up here at this point but then it’s going down so this must be a single crochet and this must be a double that’s its coming down a little bit further, single, double, single, double.

So essentially what you’re doing is that you’re filling in the gaps so this is just to double because there is two coming together and you see that so basically this pattern you’re just filling in the gaps instead your getting those regular boring lines that you always see when it comes to crochet, you’re actually doing yourself a favor and filling in the gaps and I think this tip is really brilliant to be quite on this because it really can, you don’t have to be a super star crochet in order to get some like this to work and that’s the beauty of it, I guess.

So we’re just going to work our way down all the way and I’m going to add the end of this video I’m just turn it and making sure that you do understand the edging part that it’s opposite or what you just put in there because it’s like a puzzle piece right. So the last one is a double crochet, so just going in putting it through and so we when we go to turn it then what we need to do on top, so when we turn it we need to start of with this single crochet because the bottom one that we just did was a double and so basically we just go in the opposite configuration and the single, double, single, double and that is a brilliant way to make a nice tighten it pattern not have any complexity built your crochet and still be fabulous.
