Jill Davie: Classic dilemma. You're having a dinner party and hardly any body knows each other. Well, no problem. Here are three smart tips to help you bring your group together.
First, try serving your courses family style, so that way while your guests are passing around the food, they will get a chance to chat and get to know each other.
Then, get everyone out of their comfort zone. After the appetizer and before dessert, make every other person move two seats over. Now no one is sitting next to the person they came with. And since wine also stimulates great conversation, try and serve a nice variety.
So for your next party hire some help, and encourage all your friends to get to know each other. And finally try serving your meal family style to encourage great conversation.
