When hiring a real state agent, it is necessary to treat this much like an interview. Wise home sellers will do the research, do services that the real state agent offers, and inquire about their past record of accomplishment. Home selling is a complicated process and you need to be well prepared. Here are the top 15 interview questions you should ask a real state agent.
1. May I see your résumé?
2. Are you a full time agent?
3. How many properties have you sold in my area?
4. How many current listings do you have?
5. How long have you been a real estate agent?
6. How many properties have you sold in the past year?
7. Do you know about the current market conditions in my area?
8. Do you have any educational designations pertaining to real estate?
9. What is your marketing plan or strategy?
10. Do you have a personal assistant?
11. Do you provide a written report to sellers?
12. What is your average market time compared to the market average?
13. Do you attend weekly real estate association meetings?
14. How do you manage to stay ahead of current market conditions?
Some of these questions will take the agent some time to answer. To be fair, provide these questions to your prospective agents in advance so they can be prepared for the interview.
