This is how we handle a rabbit. This is my rabbit. Now I have rabbits, first before I pick them up. We don't pick rabbits up, we are not pick them in a carrier take them on to that or they are really comfortable with it because as we said before, a rabbit likes to be peel around him because it seems take the panic some things off. We'll tap the rabbit like this and you slide one hand over the front feet and at the same time, you put your hand above the tail, pick it up like this and then you hold that against your body like this, kind of supporting underneath the buns and not around the middle. A lot of times, the rabbits will get scared enough they will fill their nose under your arm like this. My hands are under here, this is another way to hold the rabbit; upside down so you can see his little nails. When you really want to see its teeth or you need to look at its mouth, this is another way. The hands are under here, arms up here, you are supporting under the sternum and under the back but it's not around the middle.
So one of the key things that I tell people when I am handling a rabbit is when you pick up a kitty and then you take both hands and reach for it, with the rabbits think that your hands are separated. One goes to the head, one goes to the tail and you just never grab it right around the middle. If you get the rabbit runs away from you then you press the head down to control it first. When a rabbit's head is pressed down, it can't get away. When territorial or white rabbits began, the way to handle the rabbit is to press the rabbit and then put your hands on top of it's head. I have seen so many rabbits in a cage that won't run off and they want and all you have to do is reach in there with both hands, put your hands on top of their head and press it down to the ground and you have control over the rabbit.
