Well for years, people have been using least geranium as the number one balcony plant. It works great in hot areas and it flowers and comes in millions of different colors almost. But, you know if you want something a little different you might want to try this perennial geranium and it works great and pot as well. Now, you can get them in deferent colors mostly certain of white since purples and darker blues. But their great because one as they do not have to worry about fungus or mildew. Slag snails and other little bees do not seem to bug them and they pick a little bit of drought stress for those who forget to water on there path or whoever once in awhile.
So, I have got one here that I am just going to plant just going to plant up and a very easy to plant up. You can do it early in this spring. Actually and if ever you had a broken pot this is great because save your all broken save your all broken pots. They are great as little drainage. They thrown them down at the bottom that they stop the soil from falling through and give your pot a little plant a little bit more drainage add a little bit soil into here. That is really quite easy. They come little roots earlier on the spring. I have get a nice purple blue one here, which is great.
Now, they come in a bit of a rooted mass. You look for some growth area and we can find that here and there is another one here. And, we are just going to place that just down below the rim. Okay and I want to throw a little micro rice and I put that right on the root system and then I am going to cover it up with a bit more soil.
And, it is really, really, really easy. Now, the nice thing about draining on this, one is just I mentioned before their perennials. Two is they keep flowering and flowering and if they get too leggy, you can shear them back and they come long again. And, the other interesting fact about them is after they finished flowering, get this little seed head and actually there is another name for geranium is crane’s-bill and believe it or not when it gets a little bit more mature they left just like a little crane’s-bill on there.
So, if you are looking for something that maybe is an alternative to the annual geranium, you may want to try this wonderful perennial geraniums.
