Veronica: Hi I’m Veronica at watchmojo.com and today’s celebrity hairstylist Charles Baker Strahan shares some of his Hollywood secrets. You’re the men behind these entire celebrity hairstyles, can you tell us more about yourself? Charles: I’ve been working with a bunch of different celebrities for the last 6 years, everybody for like Mister, from Gossip Girl as well as lake lively, Taylor Manson and the other girl wear with a lot like Jessica Zurich of that show. I’ve worked with Mariah Carey travel the world for 6 months, Amy Pooler, Molly Sims, lots and lots of people. Veronica: Do you have any words of advice to all the ladies out there? Charles: Hairstyling should always be about an inspiration but not perspiration. whenever you look at a look that you’re inspired by that you really want to like kind of emulate, Understand that you’re hair is going to do what your hair wants to do but use that look as inspiration and may become like see what can happen in somewhere in between because that’s what we’re going tot find yourself feeling most beautiful and when you’re easy about it you can find great things there unique to you. Veronica: Can you tell what are you be doing in my hair. Charles: I’m going to show you a couple tips on you know maybe doing a work day look, which is a great way to become like pull your hair back and like draw more attention to the eyes. and maybe take it that maybe to something may be a little bit more over the top and give you a great Hollywood secret to make that great for like a wedding or something like that. So now I’m going to start by blowing out her hair for just around the front, I always like to use a more bristle brush. The reason why I like to use a bristle brush is because this will help to polish the hair and I don’t mean to tell your secrets but her hair is a little bit dryer it would see because you like to straighten it right. So the product is going to help to make sure the hair stays really soft but the bristle you’re going to make sure that you polish those ends so that way they don’t look dryer and frizzy. One of the great things that I love to give is a tip is you don’t necessary have to start from a wet based to blow dry your hair, we actually started with your hair pretty much dry actually and we used Vital Me Softly spray gel from Herbal Essences, which is the great wet or dry product and then a little bit of a leaf and split end protector which is the heat protect to make sure the hair stays soft and malleable. And then we blew it out in the dry stake which will save so much time in the morning. Now that we blew out your hair what we’re going to do is I’m going to work your hair back into your just a low ponytail which is a great place to start a bond. I like little gentle and perfections so imperfections still leave you accessible, touchable, lose your feel younger, it feels fresher and it just generally celebrates the spirit of a woman. So I’m just going to work this hair back, addressed so gently, living few pieces out. I always live more out than what you want. I’m just going to secure this back in a little pony. I’m going to do to the pony is I’m just going to take this back wrap it around itself to make sure it kind of like comes back. and your hair is you know shorter and its definitely layered but you know we’re just kind of like secure this down and back, ever are gently wrap around. A little bit of spray just to hold these pieces up in there and then what you can do is play with the pieces by your face. Now when we saw like on red carpet since stuff with Jennifer Lopez as well as Sarah Jessica Parker, Rachel Mc Adams as well, you know this little pieces softness kind of like leave us into delicateness and femininity. Whenever you have volume left in the hair or you want to keep the volume on the hair use a little make up brush like this little kabuki brush and I actually spray the brush like this and I just polish the end so again you don’t wind up like headmistress of a school. Now if you want to maybe take this and make it a little more romantic or a little bit more over the top wedding, I’ve got another secret tip for you. So I’m going to actually take this a little back down here, because we’re going to do something that is a little bit more stylish. Instead of doing straight at the back, I’m going to pull the ponytail of to the side instead. One of our Hollywood secret is what’s called the donut. what we do is we pull the donut over the top of the hair and all you do is just simply wrap the hair around the donut and spread it out and you just cover up and as you’ll see and we’re all done here. It kind of creates more hair where it wasn’t before. Secure that down with a pin. Looks like you have a lot of hair now right. Now I’m just going to dress it ever so slightly more by adding a little bit more movement to the top front area and sealing some of this ends down. Out of wait I kind of like that a little bit more. I actually like you a little bit more Lesbos French and gets more attention to the eye but as you can see this both are very simple looks and it totally goes from one event to another, its just how you learn to dress it and may give you a little Hollywood tips and tricks and everything can be achieved with great styling products like Herbal Essences. Thank you so much for having me.
