Jay Manuel: Hey! I’m Jay with Style Her Famous. We’ve got Gwyneth Paltrow’s makeup artist Brett Freedman, giving you the step by step to getting her flawless complexion.

Brett Freedman: Okay so Tara, the first thing we’re going to do is, I mean you have really great skin, but Gwyneth is known for her porcelain, porcelain beautiful skin. So, we’re going to bring you and Gwyneth together by a little veil of concealer and foundation.

You know Gwyneth, she’s got great– you know she’s not dark under her eyes, she’s very similar to you. You look rested, you look healthy. So you don’t want to kind of bug that down. With trying to look too perfect and you just want to sort of brighten up under the eye and give yourself about five hours of sleep with a five extra hours of sleep with concealer.

So next, we’re going to move on to foundation and a little trick that I like to do is use a brush and I spray a little bit of Avion on it. You can get this at any drugstore. And you kind of just want to dip it in and it thins out the foundation and this is a great thing like you know, for Gwyneth, she loves that thin veil of coverage and I think you’d have it. You can actually kind of really get a lot of perfection on a just a small amount of product. But see how right away, it’s not a crazy amount of makeup, but see how your skin just looks just a little more perfect.

Okay so next is the rosy cheeks and Gwyneth has such a warm, kind of healthy glow. This is how she achieves it. Gwyneth really likes and I prefer also cream blushes, cream or stains. They’re really great during the day because they look really natural, you look lift from within and you’re going to see a big difference.

So I think that what’s really great about a cream blush or a stain is that it has almost that little sort of childish, sweet, innocent kind of look and this is something Gwyneth really, really she’s got and sort of known for.

So now, we’re going to move on to eyes and Gwyneth really loves a neutral. She wants her eyes to show through. She doesn’t want, they’ll say, “Oh, your makeup looks great.” She wants people to say, “Wow you look really great.”

So, you actually a very similar eye color. So, using sort of bronze and neutrals it will give a nice kind of contrast. So what I do is I kind of take just a pale ivory color and just use it all over the lid. So, this is kind of like a nice little barrier between your skin and all the different colors and textures we will be using.

So one thing we wan to do is, we definitely want to pop the brow bone. I’m just using like a little bit of champagne color with a little bit of a shimmer and this is great for red carpet events, evening thing, anything that you want to have that little extra sparkle. If you do it subtly enough, you can actually do it during the day, but what it does, it catches light and it just sort of frames to the brow.

Jay Manuel: And remember, don’t overdo the rosy cheeks, you want to look like your going from the inside out and that’s how you get Gwyneth Paltrow’s natural look.
