In this movie I am going to show you how to put characters into your Mugen. It's really easy, it's just more time consuming than anything. Once you've figure it out, it's really not that hard anymore. So, I already have a downloaded character here, and it just happens that it's Broley, and you need WinRAR to extract it, so if you watch the other movies, you'll know what a RAR file is, and how to extract this file. So what we are going to do is, we are going to right click here and then we go to Extract To the folder name, because if you do Extract here, sometimes it doesn't come to the folder already in, just get a bunch of files on your desktop, so we don't want that. So what we are going to do, Extract To broley.dat folder, just going to make folder for us called broley.dat and put all files in here. Yeah see, this file came and it didn't come in it's own folder, so we are glad we put it in it's own folder, so find your Broley, your character's .dat file. For this one it's going to be broley.dat and it's right here. Now the folder that we extracted to has a different name than the .dat file, and when you are doing this, you need to make sure that the .dat file and the folder that the character is in, have the same name. So I am going to take the .dat, add up the name of the folder. So now it's broley.dat, it's a dat file inside of the Broley folder, so let's go into our Mugen now, into our Mugen folder. Here's our character's folder, just take the Broley folder and just drag it in, to the character's folder. Now right click on the broley folder, you'll rename and and then just copy. Copy the name, copy the name for later.
Go to your character's folder, go into the Data folder, now find your select .dat file, and open it with Notepad, just like you moved in for in the first video, you are going to want to open with Notepad. If you save it with anything else, and you are going to screw up Mugen and it won't work. Here is a big text file, so scroll down and go to edit, find and look for the words, insert your characters below, and you should -- probably if you've just installed Mugen, you are probably going to see, get to see KFM, which is Kung-Fu Man and then his stage set, that's his home stage. So right below that, just all you have to do, if you have the character in your clip board, you just post the name. So we just put Broley in right there, and just save it. Go out, and go into your Mugen, and the character should be right there. If you did it right, he will be in, and he'll be ready to play.
So that's how you can install characters in. If you have a screen pack already in, you select that .dat files, it's going to look a little different, but it's - -all the basics are still the same. So now that you know how to put characters in, go put as many in as you can, and have fun with Mugen.
