I will show you how to make one of these lucky puffy stars. You are going to need a long strip of paper; this one is about ¼” x 12”. Start by forming a loop at one end of the paper and tie the strip into a knot.

You want to pull the knot fairly tight but be careful not to rip the paper.

When you look at the knot closely, you will notice that it kind of looks like a pentagon. We will take the short end here and simple fold it up. We are going to tear off any of the excess that goes pass the edge of the pentagon knot. And now, start wrapping up your pentagon with the long end.

When the tail is no long enough to fold over one complete time, take what is left and tuck it under the two folds that came before. This might be a little tricky but keep at it.

Be sure to push the tabbing as tightly as possible. And here we have a nicely wrapped little pentagon.

Now, hold the pentagon securely and with the nail of your finger, push in the edges. You do not really need long nails for this, but if you like you can use something with a flat and hard edge like the tip of an unsharpened pencil or maybe a ruler.
