Here I’ll show you how to make a butterfly. We’ll start with the covered fold. Fold your square in half to make a rectangle, crease and then unfold. From both ends fold the edges of your square in to wards the middle crease. And, there is your covered fold. Now fold this rectangle in half to make a square, crease and then unfold. From both ends fold the edges of the rectangle in towards the middle crease and unfold. Now we’re going to take this edge here and fold it down to meet the crease in the middle. Now do the same on the other side. Fold this half down towards the middle and let the ends fold into a sloped triangle shape. Rotate and repeat these steps on the other end. Take the flaps on one side and fold them flat 90 degrees in the other direction. Take the other half and fold it backwards. Take this corner here and fold it in a bit. How much is up to you. Repeat the fold on the other side. Now let’s flip this over and fold it in half along the middle crease. While holding from this corner take on flap and fold it down on itself at a slight angle. Now fold the other side down to match that angle. And there is your butterfly.
