How to find your PC's Internal IP address
Hi. This is Mike Callahan, Doctor File Finder and welcome to your Butterscotch.com tutorial on how to find your computer’s IP address.
Now, your IP Address may have been set manually, it may have been set automatically by your router but there are times when you’re dealing with different tech-support groups where you’ll need to know which your IP Address is. So here is how to find it.
Click Start, Run, type in CMD stands for Command. Press Enter, the window comes up. Now don’t be frightened this is what they call a DOS Window but its okay I’m with you, everything is okay. Now at the properties where see the cursor blinking type IP Config and hit Enter.
Now you see here I've got a couple of things that has to do with VMware. But down here word says ether adapter local area connection. My IP Address is 192-168-1.104 and there is my default gateway.
The default gateway is the IP Address that your computer connects to the internet through. So if someone asks for the internal IP Address of my PC, this is it right here. Then to get out of DOS and back to windows just type Exit and hit Enter and that’s all there is to it.
