How to Find Your External IP Address

Hi! This is Mike Callahan, Doctor File Finder and welcome to your Butterscotch.com tutorial on how to find your external IP address. By external I mean, the IP address that is used when you’re out on the internet given to the world which is quite different from your internal IP address which is the IP address that’s used by your computer.

Now there are a couple of ways to find your IP address. There are a number of sites that will give you the information for free. Im going to include all the sites and to show a note, here is find IPAddress.org. You can see it gives you quite a bit of information about yourself. Here’s my IP address. My host name goes through CamCasts. It shows I’m in the United States, North America. Here is my latitude magnitude and pretty much pinpoints pretty close to right where I’m at in Tennessee.

Another one is what’s my IP Address? It also shows my IP address and you’ll note that there is no difference. They both show same address. It also pinpoints my location because the information about IP addresses and then the last one I’m going to show you is IP address location that gives you information about IP addresses and also shows my IP address, my host where I’m located. It even shows which version of Windows I’m using and which browser.

So a lot of information this is the IP address that your computer shows to the world when you’re out surfing the internet and that’s all there is to it.
