Rhiannon Ally: It might be hard to find a perfect paint but it’s even more difficult to find someone you trust with your hair. Picking a salon doesn’t have to be scary. Celebrity hairstylist Gregg Giannillo answers your question in today’s Better Tressed.
Gregg Giannillo: Here we go with another viewer email. This one is from Linda Moyer. Linda writes, “Could you please give me some tips on finding a new hairstylist? I took in pictures, written info as to what I wanted and walked out way too short, etcetera. Any help you could give me would be much appreciated.”
Well Linda, this is a very common problem and you’ve already gone the route of pictures and written things and I think that’s a really great way to start; you should keep that up. But in addition, I think you should go to your local mall. Walk around at a busy time of the mall’s day and see if you find anybody that looks the way you want to look. See if you find anybody with a haircut or color that you like. You can't be too shy about this but don’t be afraid, tap somebody on the shoulder. It’s a great compliment to give them to tell them that you think you want to look like they do.
Another thing is once you get the referral from them, make a consultation appointment. Never underestimate the power of a consultation. Go in with all your questions, all your concerns and I think that if you do all of those things, you'll really find and get what you want. That’s your tip of the day.
Rhiannon Ally: As always, great advice. Thanks Gregg. Do you have a hair question for Gregg? Email him at AskGregg@BetterTV.com and he just might answer your question right here on Better.
