Hi! My name is Laurel and I’m an apprentice here at Shar. And I’m going to talk to you about determining the correct size Cello for the player.

Sizing a Cello can be a bit more subjective than sizing for the violin or the viola. Ideally, you would want to work with your teacher. If this is not convenient, we do have a sizing chart based on the height and the age of the player.

When using this chart, refer to the height of the player. It is more accurate than just looking at the age. If only using the age, take into consideration the length of the player’s arm in their height and comparison to others at their age. If you were between sizes, it is always better to choose the smaller size.
