How to Expose Brick
I’m John Dasilvia and if you’re remodeling an older home and you want to expose some brick don’t pay a contractor, do it yourself.
Here are some tips on how to get rid of all the plaster without doing any damage. Number one, get your self a masonry, chisel and a hammer. Hold the chisel tight to the wall and always work on an angle. What you don’t want to do is make it deep and damage the brick. After you’ve removed the plaster, come back with a stiff wire blush and clean off the white dust. Then you’re ready to clean the brick by spraying a 50-50 mix, a Muriatic acid and water. A nice consistent wetness to the wall, when you’re done you can leave the brick all natural or edit your thing ceiling.
By doing this project yourself, you’ll keep the cash in your hands and add a contract to his pocket.
