How to Do Undulations in Belly Dance
On behalf of TVLesson.com, my name is Yasmeen and I’m a professional Belly Dance instructor.
On this clip, I’m going to show how to do Undulation for belly dancing. So, your feet are right in front of you, a little bit more in then shoulder-width apart and you are going to bend your knees slightly just to get the impulse. And your pelvic bone, it is going to be tilting. This is what is going to make the undulation happen. So, this is neutral and this is forward, okay?
So, to do the undulation, I have to bend my pelvic bone forward so that my torso can curve. And I’m going forward and reverse, you’re going to bring the pelvic bone from forward to neutral and release up, down, bring in and release.
As I’m going in, my buttocks, everything all of my mid-drift is very tight. It is contracting. So, I’m going down, contracting and releasing.
That’s how you do an Undulation.
