Hi! I'm Chris Freytag, Prevention Magazine's Fitness Expert. Try this Balance Chop exercise if you want to get results quickly. You're going to balance on one leg. It's a single leg squat along with a rotation to whittle that waist. So grab one hand weight and hold it horizontal and balance on one foot. Just lift that foot up a few inches. Drop down into that one-legged squat as you rotate towards your bent knee, and then pull up through your glutes, and quad it to lift through that weight up overhead.
Come down. Rotate slightly through your waist, come back up. Working balance, working glutes and legs and of course whole body and arms. Now as you rotate, you really be mindful of your knee. Keep it over the top of the shoe, and press through your glutes. Of course, you can repeat that on the other side. Do about 8-10 on each side for great results.
Now, to make it easier, let's just tap that toe down. When we lower right here for little extra balance. Try to lift it up here, and then tap it down at the top for balance. Lift, lower down, put that toe down. Lift up. So you just lightly tap that toe when needed. Down, and up. Great job! For more at-home exercises, checkout Prevention.com/fitness.
