Submission101, we are going to demonstrate how to do a Standard Armbar from the guard position.
I have Dan in guard here. Now what I am going to do is if he is posturing up at little bit, I am going to take my hand and then grab around his triceps there, let me take my other hand and grab on to his wrist.
Now I am going to post out on his hip with the same side that I am grabbing his arm and I am going to swivel. Now when I swivel, I am cutting down with my heel, right into his armpit, as you noticed, I am securing his arm nice and tight to my chest.
Then I am going to swing the other leg on his hip out and over. Once I have done that, I am going to secure the arm and raise my hips towards the ceiling to get the armbar.
So again Dan is here, I will reach over triceps, grab on to his arm, post on the hip. This is really important to swivel and cut down. You always want to have angles. He has always going to want to try to be head on with you. When I start getting angles then I can start going for submissions. So cutting down this leg, it cuts down, so he doesn't prop up on you, then swing out and over, I have the arm and I just my raise my hips.
One more time here, here post over and then up. It's good. So just a standard armbar from the guard position, it's is really important just to put reps in, just consistently go over and over and over and so it becomes second nature to you and when you see it and you can grab it and you can go forward.
