Submissions101, I'm going to demonstrate when someone's pushing you against the wall, has you by the scruff or the neck, and just holding you there. This is basically chopping down the tree. I am going to take out his legs. Dylan has me against the wall here, what I'm going to do is if his body is close enough and I can see that leg, I'm going to protect. So even if he is holding you nice and tight, I'm going to take this leg and I'm going to cut on his knee and push him down.
Now you're not pushing sideways. You're coming to back at the sole of your foot, is hitting the back of his knee, there. So again, he is here. He is pushing me against the wall. I bring it up and I shift my hips and push down. When I do that, I can now rotate off the wall and move. So I'll do it again, little faster, so it's here. Pushing, grabbing the feet and you move it.
Remember, any self defense move, you have to have intent. It doesn't work if you go half-assed ask about it. So when I'm doing it, I'm thinking, pushing, hitting it here. I can smack, I can do whatever I would like. I can smash his head into the wall but you've got to have that intent when you're stepping through.
