How to Do Shakira's Sexy Curls with Two Plaits Hair Style
Hi everyone. Today I’m going to be doing a tutorial on a hair style that Shakira was seen with. It’s a really gorgeous hair style. It’s like loose curls and it has two plats in the side and someone actually uploaded it to my fan page on Facebook and asked me if I could recreate it. So I’m going to try and do that for you today.
All right, first off, I just want to show you something that I bought today, it’s a new lip gloss and I’m not sure if it’s new in the market but it’s the first time I’ve seen it and it’s by GOSH - it’s called Gloss Éclair and Brilliance. I will show you it and it’s like so cool. It’s got like a mirror on it and then it’s also got some lights so when you’re in the dark, you can see what you’re doing. And it’s such a nice color as well, I love it I think it’s my new favorite. I think it cost about eight pounds fifty I think or nine pounds but I think the color’s gorgeous. It’s got like a sparkle to it as well. So I just thought I quickly share that with you before I start.
And so what you’ll need for this hair tutorial is a hair straightener or hair curler and I’m going to be curling my hair so either one, which ever one you prefer to use. Some hair spray, some mousse, hair grips, a back combing brush and an a paddle brush and you also need some kind of a hair clip like this just to kind of keep your hair out of the way.
All right, so let’s start. Start of by sectioning your hair. Get them out of the way. Okay and then brush your hair out, I’m using a straighter today so just wrap the hair around and then pull it down and look just like a curl like that just want some loose curls at the end. Okay, so like that. You can like repeating this all over. I really clipped in my hair extensions before just so they blend better with my hair when I curl it all together.
Okay so once you’re done with that section, you just spray your hair with your hair spray and then let down another section of hair. Okay and then section your hair again leading down some more hair and lean to that way.
Now, I always put heat protect spray when I get out of the shower my hair is damp so if you’re wondering why I didn’t put anything in. I like to protect my hair when I blow dry as well so that’s why in while my hair’s damp.
Okay. So I’m going to go finish off my hair and then I’ll come back in a second to show you what it looks like. Okay. And once you’re done curling, you should end up with something like this just kind of loose curls at the bottom.
You want to get some mousse. I’m just using some L'oreal Paris Studio Volume Max Mousse. You just get a really small amount at first and then take it through that one section. It might be a good idea to clip your fringe the other way if you have one. Okay, once you’ve done that, we can begin.
Again, to do your plat section your hair into three, start platting. And then you start bringing your plat backwards. Now, if you know how to do a French plat then you could do it. I know how to do French plats but sometimes it’s just way too fit in the hair.
So once you’ve done that, you just get your hair grips and grip your hair there and you might want to use two and then clip them over to each other like that. Okay and do the same on the other side of your hair. Okay and once you’ve done that clip that away. Okay. It should look like something like this.
Now it’s time to back comb your hair. Okay and so Shakira’s fringe flicks out at the side so just take your curler or the straightener and then just flick out slightly like that. Run your fingers through it just to make it a little bit more of a flick than a curl.
Okay and when you’re done, just spray your hair with hair spray. Okay and there you go, there’s this finished hair style. I’ll just show you from the back. Okay I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and thank you for watching. Bye!
