Let's now share another movement and speed builder which is fun for all ages. Have the athletes face in the direction they will be running and their coach or partner, rolls the ball between their legs. The rules are simple; the runner must sprint and catch the ball before it crosses a designated line. In this case, since we are using a tennis court, the runners are told they must catch the ball before it hits the net.
Now, let's move to a logical extension of the last one, but even more challenging to the players. In fact, it's so challenging, we call it double-trouble. The coach now rolls two balls and the player must sprint and catch both of them before they hit the net.
Another interesting alternative is for the teacher or partner to now roll two balls but wait until the player is running at full speed and then they call out right or left, indicating which direction the player must run and which ball they must pick up.
