Gord: Part of any garden that you are designing is the architecture or the structure of the plant, but another part is actually the color so we came to see Sheena Adams from urban Greenery, Hi Sheena.
Sheena: Hi
Gord: So you got some really, neat not only good structure plants but you got some nice color here full rage colors and I was that hoping that you sort of take us to some of this new plants.
Sheena: Absolutely, well this is my collection of Chartreuse Golden Foley Plants.
Gord: I am glad you told me your Chartreuse are golden plant. I had no idea what Chartreuse.
Sheena: Yes, Chartreuse is a golden yellow and that this here is my favorite color in the garden. When you add it brightens any spot, it works well with other plants such as the Chartreuse.
Gord: Yes
Sheena: The fantastic treats, is stunning.
Gord: It really is, is it not?
Sheena: It is beautiful, they works well with anything, pinks, darks , blacks, reds you can use Chartreuse in any spot of your garden and this collection here. I will go through these plants individually.
Gord: Okay.
Sheena: That there are plants here for sun and for shades so even in the shade there is Chartreuse for you to use at.
Gord: Okay because I think sort of a common misunderstanding that if you have golden plants, they do not always need the sun to make them more grow.
Sheena: Absolutely they do not need that. There are that some seed them and house that works well.
Gord: Okay
Sheena: So let us start with this one.
Gord: Yes
Sheena: This is my favorite, this is a golden cypress and it is going to get about 8 feet high but it is only going to stay about 2 ½ feet wide. Wonderful on a container or a well-drained garden it has lot of height great color.
Gord: Perfect.
Sheena: Yes, it is lovely. It is stunning.
Gord: Now some of the golden cypress gets sunburned. You know if this one has a problem.
Sheena: This one is fine. I have this particular one for 8 years now, never had a problem in full size it does wonderful and that is all of it. The height is grown in an amount of time.
Gord: Great.
Sheena: And this is my other favorite. This is the golden oregano it is not a new plant, but it is a favorite and anyone who grows it knows it does take over.
Gord: Yes.
Sheena: So plant it in a container or put it were you would like it to take over. A rose garden it works well there.
Gord: And the last plant here were we have to touch on this is the Jasmine.
Sheena: Yes.
Gord: I thought it was really neat.
Sheena: Is it this nice, this is new to us this year as well. This is a fiona sunrise jasmine. It is expected to get 20 feet. So, imagine going 20 feet going up and a fragrant blooms so that is going to be a nice vine that will brighten up any area.
Gord: Excellent
Sheena: Yes, it would be beautiful.
Gord: Sheena you have given us a ton of ideas. I so appreciate you let us come by.
Sheena: Yes, you are very welcome I hope that people will be inspired to put some Chartreuse into their garden this year.
