Hey, everyone it is Off Centered Potter here. I am working with a little cylinder that I dipped into slip. This is porcelain slip. I did not stir the slip on purpose. So, hopefully it would be thicker towards the top of the pot and thicker at the bottom because they are some water settled on the top of the slip bucket and I wanted the slip coating to be really uneven. Then I am just taking the trim tool and trimming in some grooves into the side to expose the natural buff clay underneath.
See, I am just kind of running that tool out to the side, like that. Do kind of get the idea. So, you can see that slip there and just taking the tool scraping it off living the clay underneath. Kind of makes the pot look unbalanced and just kind of real rough and edgy which is what I was going for. And also, what I got to you YouTubers. I got a new wheel. I got a rocker B style, but it is a rocker B style, it is a Pacifica. I just used to have a quick well. I learned on the quick well and I really messed it so I bought one. The cool thing about this one though is it is both kicked and motorized so you can get kind of get the exercise by kicking like I am doing here or once the wheel is going you can turn it on. Here is the different speed control. It has a little thing down there. It runs against it and you just push the pedal. So, every time you need to maintain speed you just kick that. I do not know if I will be happy with it or not, but I just thought it kind of fun, I guess something different. So, anyway YouTubers until the next time. Adios.
Pottery is only a hobby for me... I'm very jealous of those who make a living from it. I'm always interested in hearing advice and critque from professionals.
