Female: Newlyweds Pam and Brian Morrisrowe along with even planner Preston Bailey are in the midst of planning the perfect couple’s dinner party for six. They’ve mapped their strategy, received a lesson in the kitchen and with their guests due to arrive, it’s time to start on décor.
Male: This is absolutely my favorite part of any party, setting of the table. That’s how I started actually, just setting up my dinner parties so guys let’s have a great time doing this.
Female: This is awesome I love it.
Male: How do you like the color?
Female: The color is fabulous.
Male: Pretty pink I don’t know.
Male: I know Mr. Manly Man. Pink I don’t think if you realize I but pink is the color of love, friendship, so I would celebrate a couple’s thing. So let’s just start in having this shocking tablecloth.
Female: I’ve never seen a textured tablecloth, this is fabulous.
Male: Very festive.
Female: It already looks like a party.
Female: Preston will begin his concept of coupling the décor with the chargers. The first couple with have clear chargers. The second will have a thick silver rim and for the third, an etched pattern. Preston also applies the concept of coupling the décor with the glassware providing each couple with their own color scheme.
Male: Next step is our table centerpiece. This is an empty aisle here.
Female: For the centerpiece, Preston fills wooden boxes with moss, orchids, jewels and kumquats. Then he places the boxes in a row surrounded by square votive candles.
Male: So it’s also a sort of a gift to take home as well for each guest.
Male: There you go. So to take something with them.
Male: Otherwise, they’ll take one of our chargers or place settings.
Female: With the table scape all set, a tree grows in manhattan.
Female: This is outrageous. Male: Preston, what are you doing?
Female: I love it.
Male: What do you think?
Female: It’s phenomenal.
Male: Over the top.
Male: I really think in any table you have to have one major statement. I call this my tree of life and following this theme of life and growth and all that and this is one of my special designs that I absolutely love, it’s done so easily. You get a tree, it can be any tree and then we plant it, this is a cemented concussion here. Then you just decorate it. It’s almost like decorating a Christmas tree but basically it’s not a Christmas tree, it’s just any tree that you can use.
Female: Thank you so much. It’s fabulous.
Male: Now for the finishing touches. First where is that salsa and chips that you have. This is going to be history.
Female: Garbage?
Male: Never again. However, this here, look at this, this is wonderful chocolate that looks like oysters. So as you guests walk in, you should just hand them these.
Male: Just so that we can start the evening off like this. Instead of dessert, this could be right at the start of the night.
Male: Why not? We love dessert, everybody loves sweets so why wait till the end, it’s sort of our breakthrough. Then of course we have my favorite couple. Champagne and caviar. If you notice we have a selection of different caviar, all American caviar, isn’t that great?
Female: Preston, we want to thank you so much for helping us plan a true proper couple’s dinner party. This has been wonderful.
