How to Crochet Leaves Part 4/6
So continuing along, we’re just making our way back over that line. This whole thing consists of just single stitches so it’s very simple. There is a difference when you come back around the other side though, you’re not going to go all the way to the end of the line and this is where it gets interesting because basically, you’ve done the longest part of your leaf at this point.
Okay, so we’re getting to the very edge and what we’re going to do on this very end piece, we’re going to put two stitches into that same hole because we are making a turn. It’s kind of like a Granny’s Square. Okay, so you just put two, so then you’re going to jump to the other side and put in two. You can see it out there, right there, it’s that stitch. I hope it’s only got one side of it. So we want to put two in that same hole as well. So we put two in the one hole in the one side and two in this hole here, and now we continue along with the rest of the stitches. And what we’re going to do on the very end of this line is that we are going to leave three stitches untouched and we’re going to turn back around.
Okay, so we’re going to count three, so one, two, three and four, so I’m going to go one more and then that is it. And so, do you see how you’re going here? This now represents the step here. So it represents the edge of the leaves change. So we’re going to turn our material around. We’re going to chain up one. And you remember, the first one is already done so we’re going to skip to the next one. So we’re going to now come back. And we’re going to basically do that same stepping of the three on the other side. Okay, we’re just going to continue along.
So we’ve gotten to the edge. So now, we’re going to put two stitches into the one hole. So we put in two and we’re going to put one single stitch in the end and then put another two into the next hole. Okay, so we’re going to come around. And basically, do you see how the leaf is taking shape. We want to create this step on this side of the line. So we’re going to continue along.
So you know what, even if you did scrap and you didn’t count three here, as long as this side comes pretty close to balancing off the leaf, you’re going to be laughing. Okay there we go. So I’m looking at it and that’s about right. So what I got to do is turn it and start going back the other direction again.
