How to Crochet a Royal Sunrise Pattern Part 3/8
So now we’re going to work on our second line and if you see our example way back here this is our first line. So our second line, I almost want to create box shapes, okay so you’ll have your gaps being left in between so we have to be able to create that. So what we need to do is that we need to double crochet to the third empty stitch so let’s go. Wrap your needle around so you’re going to count to the third, so this is one, two and three. So just stick in the third one, grab your material, pull through, pull through two and two. Now this is the really easy part.
Now what we’re going to do is now we’re going to chain five. So one, two, three, four and five and what you need to do is count to the fourth empty stitch. So one, two, three and four, so one two three and four, so what you want to do is double crochet so grabbing that material again and sticking it into that stitch, pulling it, pull through two and two.
So let’s repeat. So this is what you’re going to do. This whole line is the chain five, one, two, three, four and five. Now you’re going to count on the bottom to the fourth empty so one, two, three and four. Wrap in your material around because that’s a double crochet going into that fourth empty stitch. So when you go into that empty stitch make sure you get two of those strings on top and one on the bottom. Pulling it through, pulling it through two and two, so let’s do that again. So one, two, three, four and five, counting along the bottom so one, two, three and four, grab in your material and going into the fourth empty stitch, grabbing two, pulling it through two and two.
Okay, so let’s chain five, one, two, three, four, five and now let’s wrap it around because now we’re going to count to the fourth, one, two, three and four, pulling it through, pulling it through two and two. You know what I can already tell that because I’m using a thicker material that this is going to be a lot better. So you’re creating like these box shapes on this particular line but that box shape is going to disappear when we get further on in the line.
So let’s go again so one, two, three, four and five. Okay, so it’s to the fourth, one, two, three and four, sticking your needle in so you're wrapping sticking your needle in, pulling it through, so you should have left on three, so pull through two and two and keep going so one, two, three, four and five. Wrapping your material and getting it ready so one, two, three and four.
Now because it’s open lace work, it is really forgiving so is you don’t count a stitch properly it’s probably not going to make that much of a difference. One, two, three, four five, so let’s count over to the fourth empty stitch so one, two, three and four. When I did the example I actually was short of one stitch at the very end but you know what it’s not a big deal so one, two, three, four and five. Counting in the bottom so one, two, three and four.
Now we’re coming to the very last line so one, two, three, four and five. And you know if there are six stitches left over, if there’s make it hopefully there won’t be six but you just put in to the last, I’m not even going to count it or I should count it so I miss the stitch somewhere so it’s not a big deal. So just stick in to the last one and so what you basically have is a whole line now of these boxes and that’s exactly what you’re looking for.
