How to Crochet a Beanie Hat Part 16/26
So Eric was just—we’ve determined that we need to make it smaller around the edge. So what we’re going to do is on every eighth one we’re going to actually make it smaller so one and two so we’re going to chain up two and we’re going to do seven half double crochets in a row so this is where it come back the counting. So this is two, three, four, this is five, this is six, this is seven and this is eight. So what we’re going to do is we’re going to stick into the eighth one, pull it out, pulls with two only not on three, wrap your material around going to the very next hole, pull through the first two only so now you got three left on there just like it’s a regular stitch and what you’re going to do is pull through all three.
And do you see that, two have now just become one on the top so let’s go again so let’s count again. So this will be one, two, three, four, five, six and seven so we’re back on the eight one again. So let’s go in, pull through two only, go and wrap your material, I’m going to the next one, pull through that one and then pull through two only and now you have three left and now pull through all three. See that? So then those two become just to one stitch so start again. So one, two, three, this is four, this is five, this is six, seven and eight so we’re going to pull through the two only, wrap your material I’m going to the next hole, pull through that hole, pulls with two only and now pull through all three and start again. So one, two, three, four, five, six seven, this is the eighth one already so pull through that one, pull through only two, go to the next-wrap your material, go to the next hole, pull through that hole, pull through only two and now pulls all three.
So we’ve made two stitches in the one. So I don’t have to describe that on the pattern—four, five, six, seven, this is eighth one already again so pull through that one, pull through two only, go wrap your material put it in the next hole, pull through that hole, pull through only two and now pull through all three. Let’s start again so one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, this is the eighth one already so pull through that hole, pull through two only, wrap your material and go to the next, pull through that hole, pull through only two and now pull through all three and wrap it again.
So let’s go again, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven and you see I only got one stitch left so what I would do is backtrack out of that one and we’ll make the last stitch that final two pull. Do you see that? I only have two stitches left in this row so what I would is make the last two joints. So pull through with two, go to your next last one pull through two and pull through all three and slip stitch this. And now you can really start seeing that it just really playing tight there around the brim but this is not like it will be pull tight on this rim here but it is actually the next line that really—you’ll be able to notice the actual shape of it to see whether it was actually enough. But we’ll test it on Eric anyway. Eric, can I have you in here?
