How to Crochet a 3D Ripple Stitch Part 7/7
Okay, let’s chain it up three like we normally did for the edge one, two and three. And now this is what you got to look for. You have rippled here but you haven’t rippled the one right in front of it. So that means that this line here should ripple that one, leave this one alone and then ripple the ones, so everything that is tucked in behind because the ripples are sticking out. Do you see that?
So if you are looking at it, just grab the ones that are actually sticking down so one, so wrap and wrap and we are going to be pulling these posts together like this and going in to the post and then pulling it through and then two and two and two. So let’s go on. Now, what we need to do is we need to grab and follow this up like we did before and go in just double crocheting into the one that’s right above and if you need help. You have to skip one in behind and that’s the second one over.
Obviously, we’ve just double crocheted normally, so now we have to ripple again so one, two and we’re obviously not going to grab this one here because it is already sticking out so we need to go into the one right beside it. Okay, that’s kindly like buried in between the two other ripples because you can see here the rippling is opposite of each other. That’s what causes the effect. So then we double crochet following that up where we just rippled and you just get it right at the top and if you are unsure make sure you just skip one stitch. So let’s ripple again one and two going down, going up through two, two, and two.
Remember just now in double crochet. So this is all that is ladies and gentleman. You just got to make sure that when you start every line that you know exactly where your pattern is because you are shifting over like you just did so we could see how we did the first line and well the second one appears to be shifted over. So then when we come back across, we are going to make sure that we skip, then we double crochet this one but then we ripple the one that’s in behind. There you go.
So this is just the introduction to the ripple stitch. It is actually a really quick stitch to do and it looks really three dimensional. It’s very soft and I highly recommend that I actually really like this, the look of the ripple stitch. It makes a really great scarfs and I'm using this for a couch cover. So that is exactly what I am doing.
So now, I come to the oops. Wrap and wrap, see how I just used my finger and I kindly pop it from behind to really stick out some wrap and wrap, pop it. Probably get up. Okay, we are now at the very edge but we got the edge. Wrap and wrap over the edge. There you go so there’s the ripple.
